About Us
Established in 1993, Rise
Phoenix works with children and young people in London and
Tanzania. Over the last five years we have particularly
focused on developing projects with the communities local
to our office and workshop base in Camden. By creating strong
links with local schools and community groups Rise Phoenix
is able to identify and help address the particular needs
of children and young people in the area.
Rise Phoenix collaborates with a
wide range of high quality artists and workshop leaders,
all of whom have particular skills in nurturing the potential
of children and young people. We deliver projects which
integrate the arts in inspiring and innovative ways. All
projects aim to pass on skills and ideas that local organisations
can continue to develop themselves.
Experience of working with different cultures
and nationalities in The Balkans, Africa, South America
and India has equipped Rise Phoenix artists with the understanding
to work with and develop creativity and cohesion within
the rich mix of cultures here in London.
Projects in London take place in housing estates, schools, libraries, urban green spaces and in Rise Phoenix's own workshop space.
Projects abroad are developing along the
same path as those in London. Working in partnership with
local organisations who understand the needs and issues
of particular communities and groups of young people, Rise
Phoenix responds to direct requests, delivering a programme
of projects which leave a legacy and sense of continuity
afterwards.
