This week on Inner Monologue podcast we have the guest, Laura Baran, artist and co-founder of Arts and Dreams based in New York City. Arts and Dreams is an organization offering creative workshops and classes to help others heal and empower themselves through the arts. The organization was inspired by the experience of her brother's suicide many years ago, where she used her own art practice to heal from the loss. She shares the power of having an outlet when handling difficult experiences or uncomfortable emotions. She also discusses the process of healing herself through creativity and affirmations within art. This has rippled out into her life and shifted everything for her for the better. She emphasizes the commitment she has to self love and changing herself and how much art played an important role in starting this path. Developing this organization has also taught her that community is its own form of healing. It exposes her to many through the arts and empowerment and invites her into a role of connection and growth.
