This week on Inner Monologue we have guest Sharmyn Townsend, yoga teacher and social activist based in Arizona. We discuss the concept of humanity being hard wired to be compassionate toward others and this concept in relation to social activism. She shares her story of allowing her meditation and yoga journey to shine the light on internal shadows. She discusses embracing her humanity and connecting to the feelings that she had previously self medicated. She also shares her story of hard drug and alcohol abuse and what inspired her to come clean. The power of meditation played a big part in her healing and the wellbeing that is derived from the awareness that everything that falls apart in one's life and within the world is so that it can shed light on something and fall together again.
