This week's guest on Inner Monologue Podcast is comedian, Forbes Shannon. In high school, Forbes suffered several intense concussions while playing hockey. The injuries lead to serious loss of motor functions, the inability to read and even a sensitivity to light. Following these incidents, he was no longer able to play hockey and was then diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Despite his mental health issues, Forbes dedicated himself to his school work and volunteering in the community. After moving to Arizona to attend Arizona State University, Forbes found new challenges while dealing with his mental health issues and his profound desire to achieve. He has now bounced back from such severe injuries, as an unstoppable force. Illustration by Sharon Stelluto.
